Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about setting up and running your corporate trivia experience.
Do employees need to download an app?
No! My Corporate Trivia is entirely browser-based. Employees simply scan your QR code or type the join code into their phone browser (Safari, Chrome). There are no passwords, downloads, or accounts required — they enter a nickname and are instantly in the game.
How does the live leaderboard work?
You simply connect any laptop or tablet to your venue's TV, projector, or big screen via HDMI or casting. You then open your exclusive "Presenter View" link. As employees answer questions on their phones in real-time, the leaderboard updates live on the big screen for everyone to see.
Is there a limit to how many employees can play?
No! Unlike tools like Kahoot that tightly cap player counts, My Corporate Trivia allows unlimited players on all premium plans. Whether you have an intimate 20-person team lunch or a 500-person all-hands event, everyone can play at the same time.
Do I need a host or MC to run the game?
It's completely up to you! For a live event, your HR lead, team manager, or emcee can act as the host using the "Host Control Room" on their phone to push questions and hype the audience. However, many teams use our Self-Paced Mode — the system automatically counts down and advances questions while employees play at their own pace.
Can I test the game before buying?
Absolutely. You can sign up completely free, build your entire game, test custom colors, upload your logo, and play a test round with up to 3 players. You only need to upgrade to a paid plan when you're ready to unlock your full team for the event.
How many questions should we include?
For a live game session played all at once, 10–15 questions is the perfect sweet spot (taking about 10–15 minutes). If you are running the game in self-paced mode throughout a 60-minute happy hour or team lunch, 15–25 questions works great.
Can we customize the colors and branding?
Yes! Your game should look like it belongs to your company. You can upload your company logo for the welcome screen, set a custom join code (e.g., 'ACME26'), and enter exact hex color codes so the player screens and leaderboard match your brand identity.
How much does corporate trivia cost?
My Corporate Trivia offers three tiers: A Forever Free plan for testing the platform with up to 3 players. The DIY Package ($50) which unlocks unlimited players and custom questions. And the Done-For-You Package ($100) where our team builds the game, customizes your branding, and handles everything for you.
Why use this instead of Kahoot?
Kahoot was built for classrooms and corporate training, not for engaging team events. It caps free games at 10–40 players, shows generic branding, and requires PIN codes. My Corporate Trivia offers unlimited players, your company branding, professional design, self-paced and live modes, and zero app downloads — all for a one-time fee instead of a monthly subscription.
What kind of questions should we ask?
The best corporate trivia games mix fun, culture, and surprising facts. Popular categories include 'What year was the company founded?', 'Who has the longest commute?', 'What was our first product called?', or 'Which office has the best coffee?'. We provide templates to get you started.
What equipment do we need at the venue?
You only need two things: (1) A screen for the leaderboard (a TV, projector, or large monitor provided by the venue), and (2) A device to display the leaderboard (like a laptop or tablet connected via HDMI or Apple TV casting). Your employees will use their own smartphones to play.
How long does it take to set up the game?
If you use our DIY plan, you can build a game in under 10 minutes. We provide pre-written trivia template question banks that you can instantly add to your game, or you can write your own from scratch. If you choose our Done-For-You package, setup takes zero minutes — we do it all for you!
